All About The Money
02:45
|
|||
I'm trying really hard but it's just no good,
I am on the straight whiskey, lord I'm bypassing food
Oh God, why did the devil Choose me x2
I'm swallowing drink, like the droughts about
I'm catching fish, like the sea is running out
Oh God, why did the Devil choose me x2
It's all about the money
It's all about how much you have to spend to get the money
And I've already spent my dole
So I'll take this to the stage, see if I can earn wage, through rock n roll, country and soul
Oh God, why did the devil choose me x2
It's all about the money
Oh what a sight, under the big bright shiny lights
She dances like she sings and she's mine tonight
Oh God, why did the devil choose me x2
I'm not like the others, my sisters and my brothers
I keep my kisses for under the covers
Oh God, why did the devil choose me x2
It's all about the money
It's all about how much you have to spend to get the money
And I've already spent my dole
So I'll take this to the stage, see if I can earn wage, through rock n roll, country and soul
Oh God, why did the devil choose me x4
It's all about the money

My belly flips at the very thought of passing by you in the street. Even though it's all in my mind and despite my better judgement I let myself believe it and I linger in that moment, when our eyes meet for a second, before our glance moves slowly forward and we both look back for love because we think that we just found it. Then we both walk polar opposites and merely just accept that this was not the time or place for the love that we imagined.
How can i be in love with a stranger on the street?
How can a strange on the street be in love with me?
When did a smile become an indication of love?
Well I walk on because if you are the one, I don't want to have to make you change. I've got my ideas and if they don't become real, I'll be left with nothing again. Our eyes meet for a second befoere our glance moves slowly forward, but we don't look back for love because we are sure that we don't want it. Then we both walk polar opposites and merely just accept that this was not the time or place for the love that we imagined.
How can i be in love with a stranger on the street?
How can a strange on the street be in love with me?
When did a smile become an indication of love?
Oh, oh, oh, I get it now, it never was
Oh, oh, oh, I get it now, it never was

Goddess
02:26
|
|||
What do you see when I'm down on my knees begging my God please tell me, what do you see when you see me?
Here's what you get, just what you see, an unhinged beauty, born amongst beasts. I show no fear as the end draws near, as these curtains close I through down my rope, surrender to the knife at my throat.
I throw a little a mention to the Goddess of desire, whose burning, frantive flames re-lit my dwindling fire and throw on a drop of alcohol to seduce the darkened night and I'll let her be the puppeteer as she pulls my heart strings tight.
What do you see when I'm down on my knees begging my God please tell me, what do you see when you see me?
Forgive the child, for her actions seem misguided on ly those who've gone before her know the reasoning behind it, as she seeks a better life beyond becoming some mans wife.
So I thorw another mention to the Goddess of desire, whose burning, frantive flames re-lit my dwindling fire and throw on a drop of alcohol to seduce the darkened night and I'll let her be the puppeteer as she pulls my heart strings tight.

Kerb Sittin' Blues
03:43
|
|||
Sittin on a kerb outside with my feet on the street when you tripped on them
Slumped with my head in my hands all alone on the phone cos I'd lost my friends
You didn't even look me in the eye, when you said to me 'hi, can I take you home?'
Girl with not a care in the world and my hair up in curls, don't wanna sleep alone
Oh where's my baby gone?
Sittin' in the taxi, frisky in the back seat, can't get home too soon
We stumble in the doorway, stagger up the stairway, didn't even see my livin' room
No words spoken as my blouse feel open and we're both thinking the same
My head is spinning and my face is grinning cos baby, I don't even know your name
Hey Baby, what's your name?
And suddenly I'm thinking of him cos tonight I went drinking withyou and drinking it helps me forget
When morning comes, I won't make my bed, won't say my prayers, cos I'm goin to go drinking again
It's 10am I got to start again, I''m gonna kill the pain that's in my head
Its bringing me down I got to hit the town as soon as I roll out of bed
Last nights fun has been and gone todays a brand new one we'll laugh and joke and drink and smoke and maybe we'll sing another song
Oh where's my baby gone?
And suddenly I'm thinking of him cos tonight I went drinking withyou and drinking it helps me forget
When morning comes, I won't make my bed, won't say my prayers, cos I'm goin to go drinking again
But in the end when they're all away
The lights are down and the skys are grey
I'll ask from you, oh one little thing,
when your holdin hads and closing eyes
I don't want you to fantasise
Just remember me when your remembering
No words spoken as my blouse feel open and we're both thinking the same
My head is spinning and my face is grinning cos baby, I don't even know your name
Hey Baby, what's your name?
And suddenly I'm thinking of him cos tonight I went drinking withyou and drinking it helps me forget
When morning comes, I won't make my bed, won't say my prayers, cos I'm goin to go drinking again x 2

Miss This
02:43
|
|||
It's 4am and you're at it again, you won't let me leave
I should have known as I was driving you home that leaving would never be an option for me
Lets go to bed and you can rest your head on my chest and cover me with kisses
And I'll fall asleep and you can wake me up again tell me how much you miss this
There's a fine line it seems arounf how I feel about you and me and this triangle in between
I'm sorry I guess to have you on the defence, when you don't even know what you're up against
Lets go to bed and you can rest your head on my chest
And cover me with kisses
And I'll fall asleep and you can wake me up again
Tell me how much you miss this x2

Sunshine on My Mind
03:40
|
|||
Won't someone pack my body away?
Oh I suffered a death when she went away
She took me by the hand, told me that was all
Now the only time I see her smile is hanging on my wall
Oh I miss you now you're gone
Lying in that state before sleeping
Oh I'm wide awake but I'm still dreaming
And I dare not close my eyes
Cos every day is as dark as every night
Oh I miss you now you're gone
Sunshine is on my mind,
But the light of days been left behind
The night of day won't ease my troubled mind
Worry seems to follow me
Down these darks avenues and streets
You know I miss you, Oh I miss you
Oh I miss you now you're gone x 2

Whiskey
03:37
|
|||
I wanna know 'how do you feel about whiskey?'
If you had the choice would choose a ten galss over me?
I've got this feeling that down the line,
Instead of me it'll be 'whiskey time'
I'll find you next day with a ten glass no measures left
You know I'm not asking you to sacrifice
But a little something would be nice
I 'm not asking you to chance your life
But a little something would be nice
Cos a girl needs something
So I wanna know 'how do you feel about whiskey?'
If you had the choice would choose a ten galss over me?
I don't like the way it makes you angry
Then you take all your hate out on my left cheek
I'll find you next day day with a 'Sorry Babe, it won't happen again'
You know I'm not asking you to sacrifice
But a little something would be nice
I 'm not asking you to chance your life
But a little something would be nice
Cos a girl needs something

Louisiana Joyride Belfast
LJ was born out of a desire to write lyrically honest songs to a punk country beat. With a sincere mix of dark story telling wrapped in the strong vocals of Owen and Orla, the funky bass addition from Russ Li-Nesbitt and some banging drum beats, it's hard not to find yourself thinking country music's not so bad afterall. ... more
